To eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by investing in research, education, screening and treating. Since 1982, the Foundation and its Affiliates have raised more than $240 million to promote its mission. The Race for the Cure® Series is sponsored by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world. Races will be held in 107 U.S cities and two foreign countries in 2000 with over 1 million participants expected.
