Michael N. Linver:

Chief Lobbyist for American Cancer Society in its successful effort to effect passage of State Senate Bill 185, mandating insurance coverage of screening mammography in New Mexico, January, 1990.

Recipient of the first "Unsung Hero" Award from the National Conference of State Legislators, for work on passage of Mammography Legislation in New Mexico and other states, at their Annual Meeting, August 6, 1990, Nashville, Tennessee.

Recipient of the "Life-Saver" Award from the American Cancer Society for work on passage of Mammography Legislation in New Mexico, at their Annual Division Meeting, September 21, 1990, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Chairman of State Professional Education Committee, American Cancer Society, September, 1989 to September 1992.

Selected as member of the Breast Task Force, American College of Radiology, Reston, Virginia, May, 1996 to December, 1999.

Co-investigator (with Dr. Robert Schmidt of the University of Chicago) for a three year study, "Cancers Missed on Mammography", funded by a grant from the US Army Medical Research and Material Command under the 1995 DOD Breast Cancer Research Program (proposal Log # MM950085, HURRAD Log # A-7317), 1996 to present.

Selected as one of 32 speakers from nine countries to present evidence to the Consensus Panel at the NIH Consensus Development Conference on Breast Cancer Screening for Women 40-49, January 21-23, 1997, Bethesda, Maryland.
