Procedure A Ductogram is an exam to evaluate abnormal nipple discharge (spontaneous or bloody). A small 30 gauge needle is gently inserted into the abnormal nipple orifice. X-ray contrast can be injected followed by a mammogram. This procedure will provide a roadmap of the involved duct system, and help determine if there is a specific cause for the abnormal discharge.
